THE PROCESS - HOW DOES IT WORK?

DSG Online Backup allows you to make a secure off-site backup of your important data using your existing internet connection. Here's how:

1. After choosing plan and joining DSG, an email will be sent to you with confirmation and a link to download the software.
2. You can then install the software or we can assist you via phone or with your permission, remotely connect to your PC/laptop via Remote Desktop (Windows 2000 and above only) and do it for you.
3. You then specify which files or data you would like to backup the frequency of backup and the time of day.
4. The backup software then runs in the background on your computer at the time you specify.
5. Data is encrypted and transmitted to the data centre where it is kept secure and ready for you at any time
6. When you make a change to an existing file, only the difference between the old and new copy is transmitted. This greatly speeds up the backup process.
7. To restore a file, simply select the file you require and click Restore. A copy of the encrypted file is downloaded and decrypted by your computer.
