The Filter Options allows you to specify which files you want to include in the backup. These will apply to all files, including files from FTP server, but not to predefined backup item groups like: Outlook Express profiles or Windows settings.

Your backup set can contain many backup items. The backup set has a main filter set accessible from the backup items page of the backup set configuration window. By default this set will apply to all backup items until you select to Overwrite project filters for the selected backup item. This way you can have different filter options for every backup item.

A file is included if and only if it matches to at least one included mask, size limit (if size limit enabled) and date limit (if date limit enabled) and does not match to any excluded mask. You need at least one included mask. The excluded mask list may be empty if you don't need to exclude any files.

Click Add, Edit, Delete to add, edit or delete a mask. Click the Add button arrow to add a predefined mask to the list.

In the Include only files which size is group box you may specify a minimum (Greater than) and maximum (Less than) file size in bytes. Click the edit box button to show the file size selection dialog. This will help you to select the size much easier.

In the Add only newer files than group box you may specify a minimum file date, or a maximum number of days passed since the file was created.
